why are misspellings necessary?

recently I restarted physical therapy. two years ago I did this, but need my butt kicked. my therapist is a great gal and good at that. she's in the same place and company but they changed their name from performance physical therapy to f.y.z.i.c.a.l therapy and balance centers. it's totally outrageous to me that we have to deliberately spell something incorrectly. i know i know. i sound like one of those people, and i know them, who insist that one must use proper punctuation in texts. excuse me? it's a quick and dirty form of communication. how can a teacher insist that papers are written correctly with good spelling when a kid sees a sign like my therapy place. would someone younger, smarter, and cooler than am i please enlighten me?

It's usually a way to stand out. In this case, it seems ill-conceived. You'll notice I spelled conceived correctly.

I think deliberate misspellings like that are ridiculous and unnecessary.

I think some people seriously need to take a chill pill. Misspellings are sometimes done to be fun and creative, like this company has done. Personally, I love seeing things like this because they show that people aren't afraid to be different and that they don't care what society at large thinks of them.
Sorry to get off topic, but a perfect example of this is the leg braces I will be getting soon. Instead of choosing the standard look for them, I chose to have them designed with a pattern that's different yet cool-looking. It's one that will definitely get people's attention but it's also a unique way for me to make a fashion statement for myself--and I decided to do this because I don't care whether society thinks it's crazy-looking. It's my idea of a way to be different, and I am proud of that.
So, to get back on topic: misspellings are not necessary, but if we were all serious all the time and spelled everything correctly all the time, what a boring life/world we would live in.

Deliberate Misspellings and grammatical errors are a necessary weapon which is utilized by governments and the very powerful to obtain maximum mind control.
That is, according to Jared Lee Loughner and others of his ilk. George Orwell also had his theories about the power of language.

They look good as to graphic design.
They are catchy, meaning, you remember them.
Also, when you are applying for your name in a business licenses form, you need to be different sometimes from another business.
That is three reasons.
Creativity as posted is the main one.

well if it is a perfume or socks or something that's great. a serious business which provides a service should have a seriously spelled name. also, every time I call paratranset and spell the name the call taker goes "you know you're misspelling that."

, good on you for the leg braces. were I making your decision I'd get them in pink with flowers. your actions show a great amount of self confidence and pride with yourself.

Turricane, thank you for the kind words. I am confident in myself and I hope to encourage others to be confident in themselves as well. It's taken me a long time to get to this point but boy I'm sure glad I have. I mean, ultimately, I think people (including businesses) should do whatever makes them happy; if it makes them happy to have their name spelled differently because they feel that is creative, then who are we to judge? Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
I mean, not everyone would agree with my idea of getting leg braces for daytime use that everybody sees, that are going to have swirls of colors that will make the braces look like tornados...but hey, I'm not going for people's approval. I'm doing something that makes me happy and which, according to the brace maker, looks neat.

Well serious businesses do things to catch serious attenchen.
Sometimes a misspelling is something people do.
Have you ever noticed some banks, or credit card companies buy up the mis spelled website addresses to keep clients from going to a fake website?
If you misspell it, it directs you to the correct place.
Now, when you are told you are not spelling something right, are you sure it is actually listed like you are spelling it?
Smile.

forereel, I never knew that about websites. that is fascinating. I can go back to bed. I learned my one new thing today.
